A 90 mm-deep aluminium system with passive-house certification — best-in-class thermal performance combined with design flexibility for demanding architects.
Aluminium has long not been the first choice for joinery with high energy-efficiency demands — the thermal conductivity of metal is 1,000 times higher than PVC. Schüco's solution is a thermal-bridge break with polyamide strips up to 35 mm wide, combined with modular foam insulation inserts inside the profile.
The AWS 90.SI+ has a 90 mm install depth and reaches Uw values of 0.8 W/m²K — on par with top-tier PVC systems, but with the aesthetic of a slim ALU sight line and the ability to build significantly larger elements (up to 2.8 m tall for tilt-and-turn sashes).
Where aluminium remains unmatched: on large glazed surfaces (e.g. ground-floor wall-windows), on hidden sashes where visible contours must be minimal, and on facade constructions where profiles must connect seamlessly into the Schüco FWS facade system.
On our projects in Germany — Bremen, Sundern, Schweinfurt — the Schüco AWS 90.SI+ is the default choice for high-quality residential construction. In BiH it's increasingly chosen by clients building with a focus on architectural purity and willing to invest at the premium tier.
